Hardisty Community Charter School uses a distinct learning pedagogy called the Entrepreneurial Learning Framework (ELF). This approach is defined in the school’s approved Charter and cannot be changed.
This learning model may feel different from traditional classroom instruction. Students are expected to take an active role in their learning, and families play an important role in supporting this approach.
Students learn through applied, project-based experiences that emphasize initiative, problem-solving, leadership, and learning through both success and failure.
This school is not designed to be the right fit for every child or every family. Families are encouraged to consider whether this learning model aligns with their expectations and willingness to actively support it.
Registration should not be viewed as a way to resolve challenges a student may be experiencing in another school unless there is a clear understanding of, and commitment to, the Entrepreneurial Learning Framework. Because the school must operate in alignment with its approved Charter, the learning approach cannot be modified.
Students do not learn concepts in isolation. Literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies are taught through meaningful projects and real-world learning experiences that create value for students and their community. This approach builds strong academic foundations while also developing transferable skills such as initiative, teamwork, resilience, reflection, and financial literacy.
